The islands of Seychelles are the world's oldest islands in the Indian Ocean and consisting of mainly granite islands, as opposed to volcanic or coral islands.

The government has created a very restrictive policy to preserve nature, and the rich flora and fauna are protected in reserves, which make up most of the 115 islands 455 square kilometers.

Mahé is the Seychelles' main island - just over 28 kilometers long and eight kilometers wide. Here live almost 90 percent of the total population. The island's vegetation is very lush, and the terrain is hilly by colossal granite cliffs and rocks. Go hiking in the highlands and on the beautiful shores, where you get panoramic views that surpasses your wildest dreams.

On the North East Coast, Victoria, is one of the world's smallest capitals. Here are cozy markets, museums, a mosque, a temple and a lovely botanical garden.

The island has the most beautiful pearl white beaches, where most hotels are located. Whether you choose first class or a small simple hotel, you will be surrounded by beautiful and exotic nature everywhere.

Seychelles' second largest island, known as palm island, is Praslin. Here you will be able to see rare palm trees with coconuts up to 26 kilos.

No matter where you are on Praslin, you'll feel a peaceful and idyllic atmosphere.

Here are some of the best beaches in the world, green and exotic vegetation, exciting bird species and a small and hospitable people.

The island has an area of 38 square kilometers with a mountain ridge up to 367 meters above sea level. Here are no major cities, only small charming communities with a relaxed atmosphere. Transportation to and from the island can be done by boat, but most choose to fly (only 15 minutes to Mahé).

La Digue
La Digue has 3000 inhabitants and is 10 square kilometers. It is Seychelles' fourth largest island. Here you get a holiday experience with ultimate peace and quiet.

Only a small part of the roads are paved, and there are few vehicles. Most of the transport on the island is therefore by foot, bicycle or ox-cart. In steady pace you can experience fabulous nature, turtle sanctuary, beautiful Creole houses and beautiful secluded beaches.

One of the most notable beaches are Anse Source D'Argent. It has an incredible coastal landscape with trees, snow-white beach and giant granite rock formations.

It depends on several things, like what you want your holiday to include and what your interests are. The following description provides a general overview of the weather and climate in the Seychelles over the year.

Seychelles has breathtakingly beautiful beaches, emerald green lagoons, lush scenery and lovely sunny weather can be enjoyed throughout the entire year. The archipelago is located outside the cyclone belt and close to the equator, which means that the temperature is fairly constant at pleasant 25-30°C throughout the year.

There are two different trade winds that determine the weather in the Seychelles. The Northwest Passage trade winds blows from October to March and the slightly heavier southeast trade wind blows from May to September. In the periods between these two trade winds the weather is calm and pleasantly warm.
